I’ve lived in the borough of Merton since 2008. I grew up in Liverpool and came to London over 30 years ago to study medicine at University College London. After resident doctor posts around London and the Southeast, I specialised in Clinical Oncology and was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton. Having spent 23 years as an NHS clinician, I’m currently focusing on my three children, all of whom have a variety of special educational needs.

I joined the Green Party in 2025 after becoming increasingly concerned about the deteriorating economic situation both nationally and locally, as well as the NHS and schools. I feel passionately that the time has come to overhaul tax systems that work for corporations and the rich, and divert these lost taxes back to government to ensure better services for the working population, and more housing, training, and job opportunities for young people and families.

This is the first time I’ve joined a political party and the first time I’ve stood for election. I hope to represent the people of Merton with the same integrity, commitment and enthusiasm that I brought to the NHS.

I have lived in Merton for over 30 years. As a mother of three adult children, I qualified as a dietitian later in life and gained experience working in health and wellbeing across Sutton and Merton.

Alongside my professional career, I volunteered with Sustainable Merton and, since retirement, have taken a leading role with Friends of Parks and Greenspaces groups and in my local residents’ association.

I am deeply committed to sustainability, biodiversity, and habitat protection in the urban environment. Much of my free time is devoted to engaging with the local community and organising greenspace activities such as gardening, litter picking, removing rubbish from the River Wandle, and tackling invasive plant species.

My dedication to the environment and community I live in has also made me an active and valued member of the Green Party for many years.
